She was very active on her academics while she was in college at Cowley. The aspirations for future that included completing her schooling, exploring other career options and continuing with community service work. She had a brilliant future.
The Day She Was Missing:
On January 5, 2007, Rebecca went to Cowley College to attend her routine dance team practice. Following the practice, she planned to meet friends and continue with her day.
Sadly, she never reached the places she intended to and her family became worried because she did not come home.
Quick Search Activities:
Later in the day, her family members made a missing persons report. Volunteers from the public and the local police began mobilizing to search for her immediately. Thousands of townspeople and the surrounding countryside combed over the town in a tireless search for any sign that might tell them where she was.
Her Body Found:
Authorities discovered Jodi’s corpse on January 9, 2007 in the Kaw Wildlife Area, 20 miles away from her last known location. It had been four days since the search. Someone attacked, assassinated, and sexually violated her. They also found her automobile drowned in a lake with evidence indicating an attempt to conceal proof.
Justin Thurber is who?
Local resident Justin Eugene Thurber, 25, immediately became a suspect for murdering and kidnapping Jodi. He was known for intimidating and stalking women.His behavior elicited alarms, and most of the women in Arkansas City said that he followed them.
